From personal experience, the roads in the Ardennes region aren't amazing to ride on thanks to lack of maintenance. Luxembourg however is an entirely different story. Every road we have tried is like a billiard table and the views amazing.

Patti and I can recommend a great campsite near the town of Larochette. Restaurant, shop and bar on site. Tents welcome but also camping pods. If anyone wants to look, http://kengert.lu/.

Fuel is generally cheap and German autobahns are twenty minutes away for the hooligans.

The only downside is the 4+ hours journey time from Calais.

Patti and I have been considering a road trip to Prague, with the tin tent, for a few years.

Our anniversary is 7th June and we'd be happy to spend it among friends.

After a recent conversation with Luc it has been suggested that change the date and the location for BritSToc 18

His suggestion is to have it in or near too Oudenaarde in Belgium. The dates suggested is the weekend of the 21st or 14th of July

Oudenaarde has been suggested because its near to the route that they use for the Belgium Classic Cycle ride that is also a great route for a Motorcycle rideout

Sounds like a plan.

Patti and I can stop on the way back from the Czech Republic.

Would prefer the 21st, simply because it gives use longer to get back.

PS Most schools break up on 21st so prices for tunnel/ferry will scream upwards. As for the increase in traffic levels, Yikes! Perhaps 14th would be a better option.

21st for me, as i'm returning from a week in the Isle of Man on 13/14th, so couldn't get to Oudenaarde until 15th. Bit late then.

21st suits me best, is the intention to have this as the sole BritSTOC weekend rather than having a Pre or PostSTOC? If heading overseas I will certainly want to extend it to more than a couple of nights.
