ST1100 Handlebar Cowling

Mike White spotted this handlebar cowling and wondered if it was a standard fitment, my only guess is it might be from a Police bike.....any ideas.

It looks like the later 2 piece cover fitted to an early ST1100.
I believe the later 1100s had slightly higher bars.

I may be wrong though. :)

The 'standard' ones don't stick above the handlebars like this one does.

Pardon my ignorance but in my dictionary cowling stands for your bonnet. What are you discussing? The handlebar cover?

Your ignorance is pardoned.......but you are probably correct, I am using the word to mean a covering, hopefully we all know what we are talking about.

It seems a bit strange that extended part above the left handlebar.

Looks like a DIY/customized solution... no such thing on the ST1100P models... they'd used the standard, 'civil' 3-piece handlebar cover (the P-spec handlebar still has the steel plate for this welded on)
