I have been looking at this thread and all its various links with great interest.

My autocom has been playing up for months and while I can still get directions through it, I can't respond to phone calls when they come in. I try not to use that function anyway, but most of my work comes in through my mobile and I can't be out of touch.

While the autocom is great, I would like to declutter and get rid of some wiring.

I'm looking seriously at a Sena.

I ran across this video today. Interesting if you consider a Sena SMH5.

Edit: There are more interesting test vids about M/C comm systems in their youtube channel.

I bought a Sena SMH5 for my new helmet. I had been pretty devoted to my old Autocom, but for some reason it had stopped allowing callers to hear me when I replied. I know the debate about answering calls, but my livelihood depends on me answering calls immediately and whilst I love the solitude of being on my bike, my kids also need food and shoes. :-))

I did a test run out this evening and this unit is excellent, I test dialled out and the audio was crystal clear, I was called back and it was again perfect. I tried playing MP3s from both my Zumo 550 and my iPhone and the were clear and clean while making some pretty rapid progress.

On the slight downside, and this is possibly just my unit, I seem to only get left ear sound when it first connects. Also the connector from unit to mic/speakers is a bit shaky. I'm assuming these are connected and that the problems such as the are will be sorted pdq, but overall I am delighted with my news setup.

Got an email recently from Sena with the latest firmware. Great after sales service.
Got around to installing it today. It's a breeze. Done in a few minutes.

I shall look forward it as I think I need an upgrade.

Arran is has been described as a mini Scotland. And I agree

Hi i bought a BT Multi-Interphone from China it does bike to bike, rider to pillion, phone and radio, cost £55 direct from China and works very well, oh and it is water proof and rechargable and comes with two sets of twin speakers and two flex mikes and two blue tooth units,
I get 7 hours full time use out of a charge , it was sent as a gift so no import charges either, my mate found it on ebay, so we have all got one now, but there seems to be two makes with the same or similar name look for the one from China,
we have been using it for just over a year now with no complaints :D
