If possible I think a visit to see the bike would be preferable just to make sure it is what the seller says it is.
If unable to go himself maybe get someone in the area or thereabouts to check it out?

Its a registration plate with the letter Q in which they give to certain vehicles instead of one that has the year of vehicle registration on the plate,

Image

The changes in 1983 also brought the letter Q into use – although on a very small and limited scale. It was used on vehicles of indeterminate age, such as those assembled from kits, substantial rebuilds, or imported vehicles where the documentation is insufficient to determine the age. There was a marked increase in the use of Q registrations in the late 1980s and early 1990s, fuelled by car crime.[citation needed] Many stolen vehicles had false identities given to them, and when this was discovered and the original identity could not be determined, a Q registration would be issued to that vehicle. It was seen as an aid to consumer protection.

Check it's history well Andi. Get an insurance quote. Challenge the word immaculate too it's shiny all right but look at the rocker cover and the swing arm and the rear hanger, I see pitting and such. 11k and it has a none standard exhaust and none standard shock. It may be recorded stolen recovered but what damage did the thief do to it? I have seen plenty of bikes that have been returned to owner after theft Andi and not seen a pretty one mate. Check the engine well if it was stolen and thrashed about for a week 11k means nothing. Needs a good coat of looking at as they say in these parts. Me personally no thanks.

Thanks for the comments and yes I did express my concern as soon as he mentioned the Q plate it has many connotations none of them good.

With your system on the plate shown what happens if you change address from one area code to another? Do they give you a new plate?

Considering all the ID-ing done during import/first registration due frame-, engine-, VIN- and various other fabrication-numbers on different parts this seems rather unlikely?

And what happens if someone moves to another city? Does he has to sell the vehicle and get a new one only to fit that licence plate area code with his new address?
