Competing Pan Site is Down.

Postby David W » 01 Aug 2017, 00:31

A competing Pan site is not functioning. I had to search a while even to find this paragraph (which has a non-working link):

Rallying aRound the oRiginals - Honda Pan European Owners Club ...
https://paneuro.bikersoracle.com › Forums › Main Forum › Owners and their bikes
Sep 14, 2014 - The revamped forum is for more than Pan/ST1100 owners, but the ST1100 and ... (But they have only two Pan riders on the Continent.) ... model years, 1990 and 1991, or year codes L and M, of the Pan/ST1100 Family of bikes.

The main site, https://bikersoracle.com, is also experiencing hardware replacement problems.
'Tis not its looks, but how it cooks.
And I've found that most liter size Pans, when warmed up, cook well.

I had to look that word up: pleasure derived by someone from another person's misfortune.

But that Pan group is, I think, mostly in the UK. (I think Wales was mentioned by them. They are not with any competing German site.)

Sorry, I was pretty sure that that word was also used in American English - for lack of a better one. But apparently I was wrong.

(Google Translate suggested 'sorrow' but that is not the same).

This link gives an idea about your searches implied meaning https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-a ... adenfreude

Quote
You’re on your way to work. There’s this jerk who’s weaving in and out of stop-and-go traffic in bursts of 50 mph. Cutting people off, riding people’s bumpers, even splitting the lane to get mere feet ahead of everyone else. They race up behind you and nearly rear-end you, then speed off up the shoulder. Five minutes and one mile down the road, you see flashing lights: the jerk’s been pulled over for reckless driving. That broad smile on your face as you pass the scene is a result of schadenfreude.

End quote

The site lists this as one of the untranslatable German words.

I do like the site in question. I find that after seeing the arguments that they have there all others arguments on other sites pail into insignificance
