G'Day,

anyone aware of an EU based source/dealer for such item?

Actually one that doesn't stretch when pulling the helmet over it, is made out of breathable fabric (Sympatex or such) and dries quickly (after hand washing it at the hotel)

Think you'll find most will stretch a little bit, don't think its the sort of thing you would be washing at a hotel unless you got drenched :o Never used myself but I do know they don't take a lot of room in luggage so no harm in carrying a spare

Been roaming "the usual suspects" a bit...
Most simply offer some sort of beanies (appearance like wearing a brain-condom... like some sort of gang-banger...), with seams and stitches, elastic fabric prone to wrinkle, likely creating uncomfortable pressure points on the scull when worn underneath an already tight fit Shoei...
Found another source for the Silky Liner: http://www.webbikeworld.com/r3/helmet-liner/
even avail in cotton: http://cyclecrafts.net/?product=cotton-helmet-liner
Some product comparison: http://www.webbikeworld.com/r3/helmet-liner/

The issue got me thinking though, I mean what other group has to wear a tight fit helmet in a hot environment and cannot take it off for hours?
Right! Pilots! And they surely won't take any compromise when it comes to gear...

So I ended up looking for pilot's scull caps; bingo: http://www.gibson-barnes.com/prod-29412 ... -Caps.html
Appear well made, a lot cheaper, multiple colours to choose from... (they even carry Nomex underwear 8-) )

So aviation supplies are another promising source to tap...

Good find but wouldn't think pilots spend that much time in a "hot" environment unless on the ground, know it gets a tad cool the higher you go ;)

Dunno, stuck in a small cockpit, right behind an engine-bay, cramped with all kinds of instruments & technology, close to the canopy/windows... what I can observe in documentaries is it f_hot inside small planes (the fully a/c-ed flight deck of a jet aero-liner is a different thing though...)

I hesitate to order from overseas, want to see and touch such a scull-cap first to check it their actually usable under a motorcycle crash-helmet ;)
I don't want to find thick fabric & stitches as obstacles...

If in the UK could point you at several places that sell these but searching for Vienna is bringing up Vienna VA and not Austria :(

But it did bring up another possibility though, sports shops, appears so USA football players wear very similar items under their helmets as do skiers :) Suspect the latter may be a bit on the thick side but never know, worth a visit

I'm already circling it down to specialized sports suppliers, but guess what: its not season yet... I'll have to wait for their winter-collection... WTF?!
