Ray and Patti are getting married

Postby blueclouduk » 15 Jan 2013, 10:33

Some of you that have read through the BritSToc 13 thread may have noticed my slightly subtle announcement.

It has taken me 9 years, but Patti has agreed to marry me on 7th June this year. It will just be a very small affair, a party in the North East followed by a trip to Scotland for a blessing from the Reverend Mother-in-Law - Patti's Mum really is an ordained minister - and rounding the week off with a trip on Tornado http://www.a1steam.com/ to Inverness. It does of course mean that we will miss BritSToc, but she is worth it.
Ray

(Often seen with Patti in tow.)

4 BritSTocs and counting.

:bump: Do you mean that you can't move the wedding for such an important event as BritSToc? Tsk. Tsk.

Congrats Ray & Patti! :pepper: :cucumber: :locked: :fuzzy: :hat1: :hat2: :hat3: :hat4: :hb2: :plus1:

Congrats as well!

So no motorcycle procession at the wedding? ;)

Unfortunately Patti vetoed that idea. Something about keeping her hair and dress nice. Personally I don't have a problem with "helmet hair".

Not necessary that you guys hop on a bike there, but an arranged espalier/guard of honor with some nice & shine polished rigs is appreciated by some and might provide sentimental value when viewed on photos/film years after.
But of course must diplomatic requirements towards all present/invited realitves and acquaintances be met... that's where life gets complicated though...

All the best for the future!

Congratulations Ray and Patti. I sympathize with your "struggle" to get that gal to the alter Ray, as I spent 7 years wooing my Maureen before she agreed. She is from York, so maybe it is a British trait?

Paul, you aren't that far from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and if you want a ride with a Tornado, they have one on that line. Painted green, like the one on that website's masthead. I saw it in 2010 when we rode the rails from Pickering to Whitby.
