OTOH, personally I believe that if members start reading posts offline the visiting rate will go down. Taking myself as an example, I used to read the posts of my-mc in the mails and only visited the forum to see if there were new topics or if I wanted to give my valued opinion. ;)

How do y'all feel about that?

OK - Thanks again Pieter for giving me step two of the email deletion process and I have now accomplished that without any hand holding. As to the above quote, I would think those that want to receive the email messages about posts would also be the ones that want to view it right from the email, unlike others, such as Paul, Martin and I, who don't want the emails at all. I agree with Pieter though that it could be harmful to the site's visitation level.

Hmm....I think you should click view active topics or you may miss important information that may alter your view on the universe and such, but each to his own  :D

Andi I installed an RSS feed. I think that will do what you want.
The RSS icon (next to the search box) points to http://my-mc-phoenix.com/syndication.php?t=1.
This will send a feed when a new topic is created. (I am using same to post to twitter and facebook).

However if you change the 1 to 2, as in http://my-mc-phoenix.com/syndication.php?t=2, this should send a feed for *every* new post, if I understand the somewhat obscurely worded documentation correctly.

Use your favorite RSS reader e.g. Outlook to set up the feed.

Feel free to try. I'd like to hear back from you if this is a good solution for your above request.
