Noname, Chinese CF cards?

Postby mbrST1100 » 23 Nov 2014, 16:14

I mean the price for those, supposedly 32GB cards is somewhat tempting...

...that's about 50% of what I've to pay for a standard Transcend Ultra-Speed 133x 32GB CF-card...

And considering the actual manufacturing & material worth of such cards, plus the fact that probably 99% are produced somewhere in China anyway, re-badged, repacked and sold with "astronomical" margins...

OTOH do I know that the Transcend CF-card works, already successfully used during an iPod modification...

To use a class-10 when it comes to usages like in a TTL or such is a no-brainer, but that MP3-screamer doesn't need a very high R/W speed to begin with...

Coincidentally anyone with experience on those Chinese CF-cards around?

I read something about this a few weeks ago and on E-bay as well.

They advise caution when buying low cards as some are not quite what they seem.

With our Go Pro expected to arrive soon I've been looking at class 10 32 or 64 Gb micro SD cards for that and one for the 8 inch Tab

This is quite a hot market over there...

But there is a LOT of rant about counterfeit, faulty and wrong IDed cards...
