my-mc-phoenix iron-on patches

Postby Pieter Huizinga » 13 Feb 2013, 13:34

As mentioned in the custom badge topic nearby, I've talked with the friendly folks at http://custompatchesonline.com.
I am thinking of an oval iron-on patch that you could put on a polo shirt, a sweater, a fleece, or even on your riding gear.
The design would be our flying turkey as above, with the text flowing along the top and bottom border of the oval.

They say they could probably get away with 3.5", but recommend 4". I'm not sure, 4" seems rather large even with man boobs.
Anyway, they came back with these prices today:

Pieter,

Thanks for contacting CustomPatchesOnline.com. Below is your price quote for your requested design:

** 3.5" oval with iron on backing**
50 patches - €2,82 each - Total Price = €141,00
75 patches - €2,07 each - Total Price = €155,25
100 patches - €1,69 each - Total Price = €169,00

** 4" oval with iron on backing**
50 patches - €3,23 each - Total Price = €161,50
75 patches - €2,36 each - Total Price = €177,00
100 patches - €1,92 each - Total Price = €192,00

For a merrowed border (completely embroidered border), please add 15% per patch.
For full embroidery coverage (embroidered background), please add 25% per patch.

If you need other options (velcro, metallic thread, 3D embroidery, button loop, reflective twill, chenille, etc.), just let us know and we'll see what we can do.

Our price includes:
Free Shipping Worldwide
Free Setup
Free Design
Image sample via e-mail with unlimited edits until 100% satisfaction is reached.
Up to 9 colours of stitching
Quality controlled production
Compact packaging
Bakers dozen extras (quantity above paid amount)

We guarantee the lowest prices and the best customer service in the industry.

It does look good and I'm contemplating of having 50 or 75 made. With a merrowed border.
I'd send them to you at purchase price + shipping and you could pay via PayPal.
Just testing here if there's sufficient interest.

Any thoughts please?

You best do something to promote this idea Pieter, 7 votes and 2 of them with no interest. I wouldn't go ordering 50 to 75 just yet if I were you.
Wondering how the ratio of views to votes goes on this.

Not yet, you must place the order before they send you the artwork.
I sent them the Photoshop artwork of the above site logo. That's what they based their quote on.
They have an excellent reputation but you would be forgiven for finding it's a bit of a leap of faith, passing them €140 or so upfront.

You are exactly right Paul, there are a lot more views than votes. A lot of those may be from guests though. Members who can't be bothered to vote are considered not interested anyway. :)

I may place a pointer in the Announcements section. But then again I don't want to force it upon our members, I they're not interested they're not interested. Your thoughts?

I have voted Pieter even though it was a not interested vote. At least I put in the little bit of effort needed. People who do not vote may not have seen the thread I suppose, so saying there treated as not interested seems a bit harsh, but hey, you are totally right to assume that as what else can you do.
Not seeing the finished product is a bit of a gamble I agree. The reputation of the company may be good as you say, but surely they could come up with a picture of the overall effect, we don't need to be checking needle work we just need to see the product as close as possible in picture form. Did you send the logo in a oval shape Pieter? For all we know they could cut off the wing tips in an oval and make it impossible for the Phoenix to take flight...LOL

Nothing we can do about that Pete. Yet another reason to visit the board now and then. :)
