Hi guys from Colombia

Hi guys from Colombia

Postby maubur00 » 10 Feb 2013, 13:05

I was really sorry to learn that STeiner pulled his site down. You may remember me as the Colombian who has been struggling with the 93 STeed since 2004. Not a frequent poster but when I did my jobs my threads caught fire. Last one was the "my hole thread" dedicated to fixing a coolant leak. Well guys I'm glad to be back and hope to continue to count on all you good people to keep this thing running for many years more. Heck I kept the bike for so long thanks to you all! Cheers. Mauricio.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I forgot to mention the ST is in paint right now. Going for flat ferrari red. No more metallic paint for me. Any clue where I can find stensils for the default decals?

BTW, I had a lot of help from people like Dennis, Craig, Mike, Forest, etc. Did any of them make it here?

Cheers!

Hi Mauricio,

Yes, they can't keep me away . . . . well, I guess they could if I was too naughty, but we have a naughty section now too, which I think is an improvement over STeinar's site. The worst part about his site folding was the loss of the technical info that it had amassed over the years and a good part of it was the thinking that came together to help with your problems. Maybe we will start rebuilding that data bank now that you are back?? ;) Let's hope not! :)

Craig hadn't been active on STeinar's site for ages and no sign of Dennis or Mike here either. It is interesting how many members came along and then vanished over the years there. From the early 2000's, I can remember (given time) lots of names of very regular contributors that must have sold their ST's and, since that was their only reason to be there, simply disappeared without so much as a 'so long'. I think if I ever sell my ST, I would still visit here for the camaraderie of like minded individuals.

Red . . . great colour for an ST!

Regards, Forest

Hi, welcome back. Martin B was selling decals recently and there are plenty of aftermarket replicas on e bay. Quite sure we can send them on to save on postage if required, Cheers

Just to prevent Mauricio's confusion over the old web site's "Martin's", Martin B was the handle of the California member, who has not signed on here, but mbrST1100 is the new handle of Martin Brunner, who is here and did have some decals.

Quite right, which is why I stick with the 'ST1100' call sign... ;)

Hi and welcome Mauricio,
The badge/decal set I still have won't help you much, as its for the '92 R101CU, Candy Glory Red OEM color, currently on Ebay: http://www.ebay.at/itm/170988426140?ssP ... 1558.l2649

As plain 'Arrest Me Red' was only avail on US and CN models, their ST1100 badges seem an option, or you aim for the relief-like post '96 black/gold Pan-European emblems.
Keep tires down, ATGATT, STOC# 637 (Sept.'97), PanEuro# 42 (Oct.'97), candy glory red '92 (sold), re-furbed '94 (wicked), strawberry '00 (daily)
