Hello from Cumbria (just)

Hello from Cumbria (just)

Postby jambo-st1300 » 14 Jan 2015, 20:27

Hi all.

Live just over the Cumbria border from Northumberland. My 2003 Honda ST1300 gets delivered tomorrow, and as such I thought it would be a good idea to get involved with the social aspects of biking.
This is my first foray into touring bikes, as I have had mainly old and tatty cheap sports bikes in my past, and have never kept them more than 6 months.

I decided this year I would splash out some actual money, and get a Pan.

So I'm hoping I can call myself a biker one day :-)

Not great weather for riding, but great weather for buying!

Regards
Jamie :)

One only hopes!

I am seeing some pretty harrowing accounts of 'pan-weave' whilst looking online.

Yeah, 'they' reckon 200,000 miles isn't totally unheard of on a pan.

Nope, I was fortunate to have a work 1100 for 8 years which I racked up quite a few miles so the need to use mine was limited to when I could be bothered, working 7 x 8 hour days was torture when you were getting paid to use someone else's bike, fuel , tyres.... need I go on.....
