Hi, I'm Bob and I'm a ST1300-aholic...

Postby suprasabre » 01 Mar 2014, 05:40

I'm Bob Hampton, I actually joined this forum back in 2006? I guess... I just checked... But found it again today, by accident.. :)

My Handle comes from when I first joined a forum ages back and I had just finished replacing the head on a Toyota Supra and I was riding a '85 V45 Sabre (Canadian model) Hence: Supra-Sabre

I've been on ST-Owners for many years, so many of you might know me from there.

I'm always looking for information on these bikes...trying to learn what I haven't and contribute where I can.

I recently sold a '05 ST1300, that I bought new, to one of my sons, it had 174,300 miles on it at the time. He loves it!

I am now riding/commuting on a '04 that I bought wrecked two years ago with about 46K on it (I've put about 15K on it)

I also have a 2010 ST1300 that I bought wrecked (missing all upper plastic, including the speedo) last April that I had put the '04 plastics on for a few months and put about 18K on it from June to November 2013. I am currently putting all new 2004 plastic on it... So I will have two blue ones. I like the Blue.

I have a website with a lot of info on my bikes and trips:

2010 ST1300 Blue - Being restored - Long distance Bike
2004 ST1300 Blue - Restored, using for commuting
2005 ST1300 Red - sold to son with 174,300 miles

That's right Bob, the board recognised your email address from the my-mc archive.
It even knew your name and your old avatar, which I've taken the liberty of restoring. But surely you can come up with a better quality pic than this.
Funny though that any posts of you on my-mc seemingly have not made it into the archive I received from STeinar. So there is no history to merge...

Welcome, Bob,

I think I saw (the town of) Murrieta on the map when I lived in southern California.

You seem to have already found our ST1300 forum: viewforum.php?f=10

With all those ST1300s, can you maybe comment on key blanks for them?
(If maybe so, see viewtopic.php?f=10&t=13775 .)
'Tis not its looks, but how it cooks.
And I've found that most liter size Pans, when warmed up, cook well.
