EDIT: Dave, if you're reading this, I saw your account was de-activated today. I have re-activated it for you.
Could you explain to me how you did that and what went wrong?

Pieter and Forrest,

After I logged on with all the info merged, I edited my Proflie and then found that my user name, Dave W II, was inactive.
So I registered with another name, Dave W III, so that I could log on to this site.

As I see, you have re-actived Dave W II. Thank you for all of that.

Pieter,

When I edited my Profile, I also changed my e-mail address.

Then I somehow found I was not logged in; I tried logging in but was told that my user name, Dave W II, was inactive.

Now, I see that Dave W II is active; I am using it now and do not not plan to use Dave W III as a user name.

I am also glad to see that I can now view my posts right after I post them. :D

I've reported the bug to phpBB community Dave. Tnx for explaining. I'll delete Dave W III then.

Mystery solved. At the time of merging, the target user id (the one the old posts were merged into) was still member of the "Newly registered" group. That has led the merge routine to inactivate it. I'm not sure why but according to the phpBB folks that's what it is supposed to do.

I'll make a note to myself to check that before future merges.

Most of my riding has been done on one of these Honda, North American ST1100A models:

That model is a USA, 1995 ST1100ALS (or an S model with ABS and TCS, but with no CBS, and no LBS).

The colour of both our '95 non-ABS models and of Canadian equivalents happens to be the same as that shown above.

Since that picture was lifted from a motorcycle magazine, we still have none of YOU riding, Dave.

I recognized the photo as one that is in a sales brochure I had to purchase from a Honda dealer. Then I ran across it online and used it as my avatar starting back in the Steinar days.

Maybe it is time for a new avatar. So I took this one (below) of a portion of the 1995 ST1100A that I have done most of my riding on.
