It seems a small library is building in the general biking section, i suggets maybe having the titles viewable to all but only members can look at them. It may encourage some new users?

+1 on this, also within concerns about copyrights that should be observed...

I agree also. On another forum I frequent there is the technical section but there is also a FAQ with chapter and verse content on "how to", etc. This works quite well if you want to consider it.

One thing to consider is:
Either this forum is marque specific in which case limit content visibility to registered users,
or,
If the forum is non-marque specific why create visibility limits which will also limit or discourage potential membership.

I haven't looked for them, so I ask the question, are there many "General M/C Forums" out there that have large followings? To my mind, I ride a Honda ST and I prefer to connect with other ST owners, as opposed to wanting to talk to Harley owners, or Yamaha FJR owners, etc. I don't know squat about the repairing specifics of any other brands, like the way I do my ST, so a marque specific forum is the place to go for tech assistance.

I think the original intent for this forum was to be an open forum for all bikes and if that is to be the case, then HH's "or" comment above needs to be considered.

To further address any concerns there may be about some of the XXX section content, I suggest that also be made a member's only section. This would add another level of "propriety", in addition to the well worded warning already there.
