Edit: Thanks Alan for pointing out the error earlier!
Edit: Removed XXX section from syndication - thanks Martin for the hint!

The feed to facebook for no apparent reason has been broken for some time.
I'll try to fix it as soon as Keith comes up with its password.

In other news, we seem to have *very* few followers on twitter and likes on facebook.
I'll submit a stand-alone announcement, hoping that it will generate more followers and likes.

New BBcode for video

Postby Pieter Huizinga » 25 Jun 2014, 13:22

We are glad to present you the new BBCode for including a [video] in your posts. This works also with other video servers than youtube.
Currently the following video services are supported:
  • youtube.com (youtu.be) — playlists are also supported
  • vimeo.com
  • dailymotion.com
  • ustream.tv
  • webm, ogv and mp4 files via HTML5 <video>
Usage example:
Copy the URL of the page of the video and insert it between the [video][/video]:
Code: Select all
[video]http://vimeo.com/40558553[/video]

and it will look like this:
phpBB [video]

Note 1: URLs do not need to be cleaned from the garbage arguments as our [video] will work it out. You can use both the URL of the video page and the URL of the embed code (unless other instructions are given).
Note 2: The old [youtube] BBcode will still work in order to ensure older posts will keep showing as intended.

Embedded pictures

Postby Pieter Huizinga » 09 Aug 2014, 14:01

I disabled the "show as a thumbnail" setting for embedded pictures. So now the picture gets embedded in the post, as expected.

While at it, I increased the allowed embedded picture size to 1000x1000 px to allow for pics posted from Tapatalk. Considering the vast majority of members these days have an HD monitor, this should not be troublesome for you.
