Forest, I don't see you as being negative in any way. You are dead right in everything you say above. I would just like to see something or somewhere that would be a lasting memorial for all Pieters hard work and efforts. On the plus side - its good to see familiar names back on here posting. I just hope that whatever happens we can all keep in touch.

Maybe something more fitting to that end would be an annual toast and a few words, or moments of silence for Pieter, at the BritSToc events that you fellows hold over the pond each year. I was never able to attend those, but Pieter seems to have been a regular attendee and those who knew him best would be able to share those moments in a more meaningful way for Pieter. He will probably be there in spirit, waiting for the Jack Daniels to come his way!

Which is just the charm of it...
Social media are crowded, shrill, overflowing and spread you out just too thin...
Had the same on a GPS site, till a local group decided to "open their own pub", an independent forum with like a dozen regulars where you can debate and solve issues in a relaxed manner and in (total) peace and quiet, without receiving the usual >1000, totally unproductive "me too!" postings from the crowd...

One bit of missing information is how much would it cost to keep the site up and running in any form. As I said, the ST List daily traffic does not appear to be a lot more than this site as I visit this one and that one on a daily basis, so traffic is not really the issue to me.
