Pieter Huizinga wrote:John, it is one of those British aberrations. Like covering toast with Marmite. Absolutely unedible. But hey, the idiots buy it and eat it.

I could add driving on the wrong side of the road. And pubs that must close at 23:00 because the valued clientele can't handle liquor. Or diluting perfect tea with large amounts of half-milk. Hating Pakistani immigrants but going every day to buy a curry there. I will refrain from mentioning haggis, blood pudding and half-baked bacon for breakfast. I could go on but you get the drift.

Other than the peculiar folklore, some of them are quite agreeable folks. Really. :roflol:

Pieter there is nothing wrong with my sense of humour but I find nothing in your comments humorous being so derogatory towards a country and its people is called xenophobia.
As a downtrodden resident of a small isle I reserve the right eat black pudding and tripe and drink strange brews perform rituals like Morris dancing, burning whicker effigies etc please leave my country alone.

I am joking obviously ;)

Pieter,

Potato Scallops, are slices of Potato. not the seafood type, local speech dialect description.

That dish looks like a 'chicken' version of Lancashire HotPot.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......... :)

Those scalloped potatoes look a damn sight better than the scalloped potatoes my mother used to make for our dinner. They were thin slices and put in a mixture of onions and MILK and cooked casserole style in the oven. My sister and I hated them!
