Well Martin, long story short, it was an extremely sunny day, 23 degrees, blue sky, torching sun, and I had left the sunblock at home.
You should have seen me the day after. It was not a pretty sight. ;)

Jeez, I hope you had a doc look at that. Got to be a second degree burn, at least. I swear the sun is getting stronger, or more UV rays are getting through because, as a kid, I could go to the beach for hours, no such thing as sunblock and I rarely got a burn as bad as that.

No, it's getting better already... No need to bother the GP with a minor thing like that.
I've never quite understood the differences between those "degrees" of getting burnt. Should probably look it up some day.

And you're right, as a kid I just got tanned real soon, rarely got sunburn. However in my teens I've had some serious cases, mostly swimming, sailing, and generally on beaches. But that always was on my back. This is my first time ever that I burn my face.

Mmmm, maybe this guy really knew something. Worth a listen as there is better advice as it goes on and it is making more sense the older I get!!!

Im finally home, Mike may have won prize for longest distance travelled to the event (via Italy), but I won longest distance travelled home (via France).

I had a great weekend meeting everybody again, and then a good week in the South of France, from which I rode home in one go.....1220 miles in 21hrs, and still didnt feel tiered when I got home.

Some Pics here of the BritSToc weekend. Sorry there are a few custom car pics from an event just down the road from the campsite.
