I was always thinking this was a bit far to travel just for a weekend, but I was maybe hoping I might not have any work on today, but it wasnt to be.

And just as well I had not committed to coming as I have just been told Im in Worcester working next week, only 20 miles from the campsite, so I am having to travel down Sunday. That would have been way to much travelling, and so depressing to ride home to get the car then drive back down with the car.

Watch this space as I may travel down Saturday to have a meal with you all, I will update on here on Saturday if Im travelling down.

Hope you all have a great time.

One would be excused for expecting a piccie from the Inn...
Image Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. (Don't forget to vote! Not that it matters...)

Some Pictures as evidence that something actually happened! Firstly the Lower Lode Inn campsite, familiar to some:

RTE at the Black Shed Café, an interesting location besides the Bridgwater to Sharpness canal near the River Severn. Swing bridge was in regular operation to let narrow-boats and small cruise ships through!

Back at the Lower Lode Inn. In the background is the River Severn. We learnt the Inn had been flooded on several occasions, the last in the summer of 2006 when the waters rose to above table top level inside the Inn.

I love being right. If only it happened more often...

Nice to see the pictures, Derek! I arrived home safely after a pretty chilly ride. Had a great time meeting folk again, so many thanks to Pete and Fi for making it happen!

Great weekend, the weather forecast must have put many off but we managed to dodge most of the showers & thunderstorms. Thanks Pete & all for making the best of the weather and making it happen. Looking forward to the next one.
