UK Pan Clan 'Tickler' trip to Brittany, May 2013

Postby Derek-Dex-French » 03 Jun 2013, 18:15

This trip was last weekend in May, organised by the Pan European UK Owners Club. About 60 members went along. We stayed at a hotel in Perros-Guirec on the north Brittany coast.
On the way from the ferry we stopped at Dinan for lunch. Very nice medieval-type town centre with cobbled streets and city walls. We parked-up in the main square firstly for coffee.

Nice view from the city walls down to the original river port.

At the hotel we met for the evening meal.
Is this a convention of surgeons?
Nope! The souvenir polo shirts this year were white with a Breton flag on the sleeve.

In Perros-Guirec that weekend was held a 'Battle of the Bands' competition. Contestants came from villages and towns all around Brittany. There are distinct cultural links between Wales, Scotland Ireland and Brittany, the last three of which all use bagpipes and pipes as traditional musical instruments.

Back at the hotel, getting ready for the ride-out to Fort du Latte on the Sunday morning.
Plenty of day-glow clothing in sight.

We parked-up at the top of the car park for a walk down to Fort du Latte. This castle has been used a number of times for films, including 'The Vikings'. The day got hot as did I (now where is Photoshop when you want it?).

All-in-all the trip was well organised with very pleasant company and the hotel supplied a-never-ending-supply-of wine with the meals and did well looking after everyone. I have returned more tanned, but less toned, than when we started out!
