My other bike is an Ariel 500 cc single special

... The sprung frame is from 1954 and the all alloy engine is from a 1952 V.H.A. of which only 200 or so were made

...The engine is tuned with larger valves and lumpy cam timing, has polished steel flywheels (standard cast iron),

standard Burman 4speed gearbox fitted to a swinging arm frame the rear has racing Girlings and the front forks modified to two way damping

....It has separate headlamp (standard fitted into a cowel)

, stainless guards and the original Dunlop wheels and brakes???

fitted with modern rubber...It easily will top 90mph on the speedo and returns about 70 mpg

, very light handling and lousy brake

s...I bought this bike off a very good friend for £35 in 1972 the price I charged him in 1957 for a 350 A.J.S.

I have used this bike as main transport to and from my workplace until a big off in London didn't use it for a year

, re commissioned it and the used it for fun and Classic rallies

, Still running but not so much now as the old knees don't like kick starting

.....Its been at least twice around the clock now, on it's second rebore and third big end one ruined when replaced without the oil ways being lined up

........Try as I might I don't seem to down load a pic.
