Mike I have a pair of those but when I fitted them I put them in the wrong way round as there is no way of knowing which way round to press them in, and I had the same result as you, and with the brake light on all the time I could not see if the 5w light was on at all I just turned the bulbs round 90 degrees and all was well, is this the case with yours ??

We did a 1100 vs 1300 light comparison test over the weekend.

Two 1300's with one fitted with LED (?? quality) globes, the other standard.

No visible difference between my 1100 and the two 1300's when the three bikes were all parked side by side at night. Both 1300s were fitted with LED brake lights. One was the optional spoiler/brake light on the top case and the other was aftermarket and fitted under the top case.

We do have a minimum/maximum light visibility/brightness standard over here which might account for the very little to almost no 1300 tail light issues. LEDs have a longer life span than standard globes so it makes to use them.
