BRIGHTER REAR/STOP LIGHTS
The rear lights on the ST1300 are generally reckoned to not be bright enough. One UK Owners Club member Dave R has fitted replacement red LED ones which are usefully brighter and should outlast the bike! Some details at this link for the LED tail/stop light bulb. It is the lower 54-LED red version he has fitted. Note that these bulbs can be fitted the wrong way round into the slot. Fitting involves removing the piece under the rear mudguard (fender) so you can get at the bulb holders:

Derek after the upgrades to my indicators, with the help of Houndy, I can fully understand the benefits of using the same coloured LEDS as the lens in any light unit. The effect is nothing short of brilliant........pun intended..LOL

Are you going this route too?

Derek

Have you seen them in action?

I have a failed braked filament so considering trading up to these

But at over a Tenner each its an investment.

A few bikers Ive noted have fitted the dual colour type which are indicators when turning but with optional white side lights when selected. This does however require a replacement clear white lens for the indicator housing.I believe Houndy has them fitted to his bike.

I thought what you call side lights (our parking lights) were housed in the upper outer corners of the main headlight housing.

Yes I meant in effect they are not directional lighting like the low/high beam but do provide additional forward white light.

The brake lights are even brighter so hopefully reducing the likelihood of being rear-ended!
